steak crunch crostinis

I’ve seen a couple of steak crostini recipes out there, but I promise you, mine is the best! I served these at my New Year’s Eve party and they were the quickest snack I served to disappear. They are so simple, but an easy way to impress if you get put on appetizer-duty for an upcoming gathering. See below for the recipe and enjoy!

steak crunch crostinis

Cook time: 30 minutes

Yields: Roughly 30 crostinis

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons of butter, melted

  • 1 store bought French baguette

  • 1 pound of skirt steak

  • 3 tablespoons of chives, chopped

  • 1 carton of creme fraiche

  • 1 jar of chili crunch (Momofuku is my go-to brand)

  • Flaky sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; Preheat oven to 300 degrees

  • Once the oil is hot, sear the steak for about 2 minutes on either side to get a golden crust; Continue to cook the steak for 3 minutes on each side until internal temperature reaches 125 - 135 degrees; Set aside to rest

  • While the steak is resting, thinly slice baguette and arrange on large sheet pan; Brush the tops of the slices with the melted butter; Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes (check on the bread every 5 minutes or so to prevent burning); Your final product should be golden and crispy

  • Assemble the crostinis! Spread a spoonful creme fraiche on each slice of toast; Thinly slice steak and top each piece of toast with the meat

  • Spoon chili crunch onto each crostini and sprinkle with chives and sea salt

  • Serve and enjoy!
